On February 14, the U.S. Department of Education鈥檚 Office for Civil Rights issued a Dear Colleague Letter outlining new federal interpretations regarding race-based preferences in education. This directive clarifies legal obligations under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution. On February 19, 麻豆传媒AV's accrediting body, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges advised its member institutions to conduct a review of their policies with their general counsel based on the new Dear Colleague Letter. 麻豆传媒AV University leadership is reviewing federal guidance and University practices to consider the implications for the University.
